To initiate a high level of visibility, The Kotchen Group produced DIY media campaigns and holiday ?how to? demonstrations on network TV. Simple to make decorating projects and gifts for consumer magazines and newspapers were also pitched during seasonal periods.
For magazines a creative keepsake box, sprayed with the new Make It Suede!, accented in gold and filled with a sample of the new spray paint and pens, was delivered to the shelter magazines. Follow up editorial meetings and custom designer projects were arranged with key publications. Recruiting a celebrity HGTV host, a decorating author and a contributor to the Today show as spokespersons, The Kotchen Group created several media tours such as Decorating with Style and Crafting for the Holidays for TV shows nationwide.
Press materials with slides and new product information for DIY trend stories, on stenciling, Fall and Spring Fix Ups, Christmas crafts, faux finishes etc. were placed seasonally to build relationships with newspapers and syndicates.
